"Hillary Trojans"

The Url below leads to a fairly detailed assessment of a phenomenon many have observed here and I am seeing in many corners of the echo chamber.

If you've been wondering about the improbable frequency of commenters claiming to be disgruntled Clintonists now ready to vote McCain, you may well be seeing the swift boat ploy of 2008.

While there are legitimate aggravated Clintonists there are differences in their comment patterns such as little presence of a drift to McCain.

It is like a psy-ops project and is probably rabid wingnuttery trolls on their own. Their posts have a formal structure comparable to dimbulb rants on a typical craigslist Rant and Rave page, where they probably learned their 'ahem' craft.

It makes site moderation for political spam, that's what it is, more of a handful for site moderators.

My remedy would be to bury them with useful and engaging content that undermines the utility of their efforts. Note, for example, a recent uptick in a variety of good reads here from Leiber parodies to insightful stat break downs and well thought diaries on other topics besides the faux horse race.

unnecessary diary right now.

really not appreciating this now with a steaming pile of fail of the rec list now.  you have no idea the size of puma - so you and others who claim this might want to have some facts behind all these assertions.

also - while i generally love lieber's diaries - he's one of the people responsible for  the poo being on the rec list, so i will no longer partake.

Hi CG...Can you explain this comment? I thought his "OMG a NEW POLL" diary was actually wonderful comic relief in a sea of poo flinging, which, IMO, seems to be coming in waves.

My take is, the "Obama Prayer" diaries was MUCH more vicious then the MSOC fight, and the reaction to it.

We seemed to have amped down since then a bit, after the GBCW diaries died down.

My take is we are in the dog days, watching ever poll, waiting for the VP pick.

Folks don't need much to fight old fights, when not much else is going on.

i was a fan of his diaries - but when i look at the list of reccers on that list - you included - it tells me a lot about their intentions.

Re: inflammatory title. (none / 0)

Sure, and I also rec'd the "Bill Clinton is a racist" diary, which drove the Obama side over the edge, causing series of GBCW diary.

My reasons for rec'ing are my own, and you will notice, I rec'ed the response diary to it as well.

I have spent a lot of time on MyLeftWing, I am very familar with MSOC stuff, from there, KOS, etc.

She is way over the top, but I happen to think it was NOT a rehash, but she was stating her CURRENT piss-off-ed-ness at the Clintons, which I don't feel in the same amount, except a bit at Bill.

I DO think they are playing politics for the limelight, and the Obama folks are pushing back, feeling she should do more to damp down the media's NEW obsessing with the PUMA wars....

So, MSOC took, IMHO, too strong a side in that war from the Obama viewpoint, but, again, I don't neccesarily disagree with her 100%?

But, I don't throw her overboard, and I think as much as folks reacted to that, I saw a lot of UNDER reaction to "The Obama prayer" diaries.

Eveyone has a lens on here.....

I think that we can all be friends here, right?

This is pointless bickering among two people that I really like.

We need to stop this.

Re: inflammatory title. (none / 0)

Oh no, I didn't want to annoy you or anyone and I apologize. I 'm not even that familiar with inter diarist conflicts here and just see each given piece in isolation from the chain of prior ones unknown to me.

This is just an emerging story that is corroborated by patterns I'm seeing in many places and the title was from the blog of origin cited by url.

There is a striking similarity in all these false flag comment things that would be well summarized by someone familiar with urban folk myths and their narrative elements.

That wouldn't be me but it will be interesting to see if any further useful research on the whole thing is applied.

There has been a gratifying increase in a number of editorial stories in the various old media about the relative inapplicability of polling data at this time that dovetails with my own wild guesses.

I guess the best conclusion on this particular phenomenon might be that it isn't working beyond creating a degree of fear and polarization in formerly serene comment zones but in the grander scheme of it all, the likelihood of a McCain presidency shrinks incrementally more with each passing day.

Re: inflammatory title. (2.00 / 1)

the only problem is you have given to permanetly disgruntled BHO fringe (no i am not saying all BHO supporters are like this, note the word "fringe") another two-word catch phrase (almost always they are the ones who cannot escape the two-word sub-culture) to label anyone they cannot debate on the content of their posts. They do enough damage to the democratic party as it is. Just look below and you will see one of those feebs using that phrase against JRE.

If only John Edwards had worn a Hillary Trojan (none / 0)

he wouldn't be in such trouble right now.

Re: "Hillary Trojans" (none / 0)

hmmmm

The easiest way to discern comments or Diaries is to do some simple checking...(past practice)

Liars cannot be consistent....
I look for words or phrases..

Sometimes I refute with facts..
Sometimes I refute with humor..
Sometime I refute with hostility..

Sometimes I do all of the above whenever I believe I discern someone saying "row faster"

Fuck'em

Re: "Hillary Trojans" (none / 0)

I grow weary of our neurotic approach to politics, especially tiresome are the arguments we have over every comment and gesture of our favorite individual politicians and those of their rivals in the Party. I'd like it if we could stop being fans of personalities and try to concentrate on the goals. I'm going to try to do that from now on - call me on it when I backslide, OK?

I resent being referred to as a "Clintonist".

I much prefer "Clintonian"

...Thank you  :)

Re: "Hillary Trojans" (none / 0)

I'm terrible and oblivious some times to nomenclatures and best usages. But I do apply it to myself. People are always welcome to hail me with whatever I can recognize as indicating me.

There is a nicer sonic euphony to 'Clintonian' so if I ever get around to writing some neo homeric metaphor stream on 'Life Since Reagan" I will readily embrace your version for its better word music potential.
